Sarnia Council faces about a five per cent property tax increase heading into budget deliberations Tuesday.
That's down from the just over six per cent originally recommended.
An increase to the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund Grant brings nearly $426,000 in additional revenue in 2015.
Finance Director Brian McKay says a further cut, of nearly $177,000, to benefit accounts is also proposed after receiving updated rates from the city's provider.

Council's budget deliberations get underway at 9am.
