Man arrested for skipping court
A 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man spent the night in police custody after he was arrested for skipping a scheduled court appearance.
Chatham-Kent police said they found him in the area of Edgar Street in Chatham shortly before 6 p.m. Monday and learned that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
He was taken into custody and was set to be held at police headquarters pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested after police investigate "disturbance" in Wheatley
A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested for breaching the peace late Monday night.
Officers said they were called to the area of Erie Street South in Wheatley for a disturbance involving a male and a female shortly before 11 p.m. Monday and their investigation led them to arrest a man in connection with the case.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a Provincial Offence Notice.

Slow-moving vehicle tips off police to impaired driver
A 61-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing an impaired driving charge after she was spotted swerving on the road in Wheatley.
CK police said she was also driving "well below the posted speed limit" on Wheatley Road shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said they pulled the woman's vehicle over and later arrested her for impaired driving. She was taken to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
