Police investigating garage break-in

Chatham-Kent police are looking for suspects following a break-in and theft in the overnight hours between Thursday and Friday.

Police said they responded to a Forest Street address at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

It was reported that unknown suspect(s) broke into a detached garage and took $5,000 worth of tools.

Charges laid following collision

A 28-year-old has been charged with careless driving following a crash on Friday morning.

Chatham-Kent police responded at around 8 a.m. to the area of Queens Line and Merlin Road in response to a single-vehicle collision.

It was determined that the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a hydro pole.

No injuries were reported.

Noise complaint leads to arrest

Early Saturday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a Grand Avenue West apartment building due to multiple noise complaints.

Police were called just before 1:30 a.m.

A 40-year-old was issued a Noise By-Law ticket.

The man followed officers to the common area of the apartment building where he was arrested for public intoxication.

The Chatham man was taken to police headquarters where he was held until he was sober.
