Chatham-Kent man accused of uttering threats

A local man who was out on probation has been arrested again.

CK police said they picked him up while officers were investigating a call about someone uttering threats at a home on Fifth Street in Chatham shortly after 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said they learned the man had allegedly gone into the building before he started threatening some of the people who live there.

Officers said the man left before they arrived, but the tenants of the building were able to identify the man.

Police were then able to confirm that the suspect was out on probation with a condition that banned him from going to that specific address.

A 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested over the noon-hour on Thursday at the same address on Fifth Street and he was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

He was taken to police headquarters and was later released with a future court date.
