What's opened and closed this long-weekend Monday in Windsor-Essex?

Canada turned 156 on Saturday, but there are some places in Windsor-Essex that will observe the holiday on Monday.

All federal and provincial offices will be closed Monday. There will be no Canada Post delivery, and all financial institutions are also closed.

All ServiceOntario offices will be closed, though selected transactions may still be performed online.

Municipal offices for the City of Windsor, LaSalle, Lakeshore, Essex, Leamington, and Kingsville will be closed Monday. Tecumseh and Amherstburg's town halls will be open as they observed the holiday on Friday.

The LCBO and The Beer Store will be open during normal hours Monday. The same goes for Devonshire Mall and Tecumseh Mall in Windsor, and Windsor Crossing outlet mall in LaSalle.

Windsor Public Library branches are open Monday, along with all Essex County Library branches.

The 311 call centre is closed Monday, with hours resuming Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 211 call centre is open 24 hours and will be operating as usual.

In the City of Windsor, there will be no residential rubbish, yard waste, or recycling collection Monday. These pickups will be delayed by one day. Night commercial, front-end loader, and weekly recycling pickups will go on as usual. Refer to your waste collection calendar for details.

The public trash and household chemical drop-off depot off Central Avenue is open Monday, under its summer hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community centres and arenas in Windsor are open Monday for scheduled activities and booked events. The Atkinson, Central, Mic Mac, Remington Booster, and Riverside Centennial outdoor pools will be open for the usual swimming programs, along with the indoor pools at the WFCU Centre and Gino and Liz Marcus Community Centre. All outdoor splash pads are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Lakeview Park Marina will operate Monday as usual.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park will be open Monday from noon to 4 p.m., and follow that schedule all summer long.

The H-4 program at Windsor Water World will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for men and women experiencing homelessness.

Parking payment offices in the City of Windsor will be closed Monday, but payment for traffic tickets may be made online.

Transit Windsor buses will operate Monday on the normal weekday schedule. The customer service office at the Chatham Street West terminal, and the sales office on North Service Road, will be open as usual.

The Chimczuk Museum and Francois Baby House in Windsor will be closed Monday, their usual day off.
