Fatal crash in Wallaceburg claims three lives

Three people have died after a collision Sunday night between a semi tanker truck and a car carrying five occupants.

Emergency crews were notified of the crash at Wallace Street and McNaughton Avenue just before 10 p.m.

Police said the car was travelling along Wallace Street, and when it entered onto McNaughton Avenue, collided with a tractor trailer that was heading northbound.

All of the occupants of the car were in their 20's, according to police.

The 23-year-old driver and two 24-year-old passengers, all from Wallaceburg, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger, a 25-year-old from Dover Township, was taken to a London hospital in critical condition.

The fifth occupant of the car, a 22-year-old Wallaceburg resident, as well as the driver of the tractor trailer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were both transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance by ambulance.
