Another Chatham-Kent summer tradition is back in-person.
The 147th Dresden Exhibition kicks off on Friday night with the Brent Marchand Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull.
"It will be great to have the truck and tractor pull there again," said Alicia Van Esse, president of the Dresden Agricultural Society. "It's been a couple years since we were able to have it, so pretty excited that we can offer this again this year."
Last year the Dresden Ex included virtual exhibits, but Van Esse said they have a full day of in-person events planned for Saturday.
"The Soap Box Derby, we have live cattle shows, a vendor show, and of course all the exhibits that will be on display. And then at night, we have three live bands, the Southwind Buoys, the Cheap Trick tribute, and the Dust & Bones, which is the Guns N Roses tribute."
Dresden Raceway will also be a busy spot on the holiday Monday when they host their final day of harness horse racing.
"Post time is at one o'clock. Because it's Emancipation Weekend we are doing a black heritage day, where we talk about Josiah Henson and how horse racing got started in Dresden. And then because of that, all the 50/50 proceeds will go to Uncle Tom's Cabin."
