Chatham-Kent police have made a pair of arrests after the Goodwill Industries facility on National Road in Chatham was targeted by thieves again.
Police said this time, they found two people hiding on the property after getting a call at around 5 a.m. Tuesday about two suspicious people in that area.
Officers said their investigation showed that the pair of suspects had cut the lock off of a fence and a trailer in a secure area at the site.
Both of the accused were arrested and officers said they found some suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, and a large amount of cash when they searched them.
A 27-year-old Chatham woman was charged with mischief and attempted theft and a 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief, drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. Police said the man they arrested was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release conditions.
Both of the accused were taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
The Goodwill Industries facility on National Road was also broken into back in September. Police arrested and charged a 37-year-old Chatham man in connection with that incident.
