Festive fundraiser to benefit Hope Haven

Several local singers and musicians will be lending their talents to a fundraiser next month in support of Chatham Hope Haven.

The CK Christian Men’s Choir, Ron Bolohan “The Accordion man”, soloist Mikayle Lozon, the Dover Centre Ladies Choir, the “One Accord” Men’s Quartet, and organist Nancy Tapley have all teamed up for the festive event at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 7.

The family-friendly event is set to feature lots of carol singing and is "admission by donation" -- organizers are asking for a free-will offering to support the mission of the haven, which helps homeless men who want to change their lives and find stable housing.

“It is wonderful to have this concert become an annual event to support Chatham Hope Haven," said Wanda Bell, general manager of the haven. "It will be a special evening in which to celebrate the Christmas season and to assist those who are in need in our community."

The haven runs solely on donations with a group of volunteers supervising the men in the evenings and providing supper and breakfast each day as well as showers, laundry facilities, and referrals to community resources.
