Local chefs have wined and dined as part of a fundraising campaign, which has raised almost $150,000 for health care in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation has raised a total of $149,040 during its 17th annual Parade of Chefs, which was held on October 3 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre. All funds raised will go towards the urology program at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The event saw a record-breaking 400 guests enjoy a six-course meal prepared using fresh local produce, paired with wines and craft beers from local wineries and breweries. Celebrity host John Catucci, from Food Network Canada’s hit shows You Gotta Eat Here! and Big Food Bucket List, also entertained those in attendance during the event.
“Together, we can achieve great things for our community hospital, and together, we did raise the bar and make this the best Parade of Chefs Chatham-Kent has ever seen," said says Mary Lou Crowley, president and CEO of the CKHA Foundation, in a news release.
