Canada falls to New Zealand, but secures place in 2025 Finals as host

Canada's national men's softball team finished third in the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup Group B, securing their place in the 2025 Finals as the host nation.

In the crucial Repechage game on Sunday, July 14, 2024, Canada faced New Zealand after Argentina defeated New Zealand 6-5 in the Group B final. Despite taking an early lead, Canada lost 4-1. New Zealand's Pita Rona pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits and striking out eight.

Earlier in the day, Canada showcased their batting strength, collecting 10 hits in four innings against Singapore.

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is set to host the World Championship Finals of the Men's Softball World Cup from July 8-13, 2025.
