Conners needs strong performance at U.S. Open to secure spot on Olympic team

Listowel's Corey Conners is within striking distance of earning a spot on Canada's golf team at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

Conners is currently ranked 46th in the world, with the top two Canadians in the Official World Golf Ranking after this week's U.S. Open heading to France.

Conners is trying to catch Winnipeg's Nick Taylor and Moose Jaw's Adam Hadwin, who lead the race at 32nd and 35th, respectively. Taylor and Hadwin's strong performances this season put them in prime positions, but Conners, who represented Canada in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, hopes to secure his spot once again with a strong performance at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, North Carolina starting June 13, 2024.

The Olympic golf events will take place from August 1-4 for men and August. 7-10 for women at Golf National in Paris.
