PJHL, GOJHL suspend seasons until late January

**Updated as of 9:51 p.m. Tuesday, January 4th, 2022**

The Provincial Junior Hockey League and Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League have both officially suspended their respective 2021-22 seasons until at least January 27th.

Following the new provincial measures announced by Doug Ford on Monday, the PJHL shared in a statement to its member teams that the season will be suspended with the hope that it can be resumed after the 27th. The statement was shared via Twitter by the Mitchell Hawks of the PJHL's Pollock Division. Shortly after that, the GOJHL shared a similar release via the league's Twitter account. The leagues were not deemed professional or "elite amateur" leagues by the province, meaning they could not continue their games behind closed doors, as the NHL and OHL are being allowed.

The PJHL and GOJHL lost the entirety of their 2020-21 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
