Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to intensify early this afternoon. Once the storms have intensified there is a risk of a brief tornado.

<p>The Port Elgin Super Spiel is back this year after missing last year due to COVID 19. 16 teams are competing for $13,000 in prize money.</p><p>
Play got underway at 9 am Friday with additional draws at 12, 3, 6 and 9. Play resumes tomorrow with the playoffs on Sunday.</p><p>
The field includes 4 of the top 10 ranked teams in Ontario, a team from Quebec, a team from New Brunswick as well as a few local area teams.</p><p>
Early favourites with wins in the first game include Team Kean (Ingersol), Team Ferris (Gimsby), Team Lawes (Collingwood) and Team Ainsley (Toronto)
