Wingham team misses playoff bracket at provincial curling event

A team representing the Wingham Golf and Curling Club did not advance to the playoff bracket at the Ontario Mixed Curling Championship in Tecumseh.

The foursome of Shawn and Kate Cottrill of Belgrave and Wayne and Kim Tuck lost their final two games one the final day of round robin play.

In the first game Saturday, Team Tuck conceded 10-5 to Team McNamara and then lost 7-6.

That put the team's record at 4-3 to finish in fifth.

Only the top three teams advanced, which were rinks from St. Thomas and two from Ottawa.

The winner advances to the nationals in Canmore, AB in the second week of November.
