Canada earns silver at para ice hockey world championship

Monkton native Corbyn Smith has a silver medal from the World Para Ice Hockey Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Canada played the U.S. in the final on Saturday and lost 5-1.

Canada had gone undefeated in the preliminary round including a 2-1 win over the U.S.

Canada would go on to beat Russia 2-1 in the semi-final.

Smith played in all five games and scored two goals and added two assists.
