Patriots, Ironmen collide Saturday and Sunday

The series is set for the PJHL Pollock Division Final.

The Mount Forest Patriots will host Game 1 Saturday at 8 p.m. while Wingham will host Game 2 on Sunday at 3 p.m.

This is the second consecutive season that the Patriots and Ironmen will meet in the final. Mount Forest won last season's series in six games.

For Mount Forest, this is their fourth straight trip the PJHL Pollock Division Final. Their first championship of this current run in 2016-2017, ended a 19-year drought going back to their last win in the former Western Junior C League in 1995-96. That was the final year of a 3-year championship run.

A Mount Forest win this season would give them the longest championship winning streak in the club's history.

The Wingham Ironmen's last championship win was in 2013-2014 when the club made it into the Schmalz Cup Semi-Finals. The Ironmen go into the finals having won eight straight playoff games sweeping both their series against Walkerton and Kincardine.
