Guelph edges Attack in Owen Sound

The Guelph Storm was able to score early and late in the first period and held off a late Owen Sound surge to win 4-3.

Pavel Gogolev scored at 3:45 and 15:25 of the first period to give the Storm an early lead.

Owen Sound was able to tie it in the second with goals from Griffin Wilson and Brady Lyle. Lyle's marker came on the power play. But Gogolev struck again scoring at 10:05 of the second period and again at the 14:23 mark to cap off a four goal performance.

Barrett Kirwin would pull Owen Sound to within one with a goal in the third but that's as close as the Attack would get.

The Guelph win, combined with London's loss in Kitchener, puts the Storm in first in the Midwest Division by two points over the Knights.

Owen Sound is currently fourth in the division, nine points back of Guelph.
