Team Canada wins gold at U17 Pan American Softball Championship

Team Canada have captured gold at the U17 Men's Pan American Softball Championships in Guatemala.

After losing their opening game to the United States, Canada rattled off 6 straight wins to capture gold on Saturday, downing Mexico 4-1 in the championship game. Reese Yantzi of Shakespeare, Ontario was great on the mound as he limited Mexico to just 4 hits.

The Canadian team also featured Owen Rahn of Durham, Ontario, who also plays for the PJHL's Mount Forest Patriots, as well as Mason McKay of Tavistock, Jackson Pegelo of Cargill and Matthew Weiler of Hepworth.
