More sad news in sports, as the Calgary Stampeders confirm player Mylan Hicks has been killed in a shooting at a nightclub.
The shooting occured Saturday evening. Hicks was just 23-years-old.
The investigation is ongoing and more info will be released as investigators make it available.
In a separate incident, tributes continue to pour in on social media as the word spreads out of Miami that Marlins ace and young star pitcher Jose Fernandez has died in a boating accident.
Fernandez was one of three people killed in the crash just off the Miami coast early this morning. The news has prompted the cancellation of the Marlins and Braves series finale today. The Miami Dolphins plan to hold a moment of silence prior to their game today against the Cleveland Browns.
Jose Fernandez was 24-years-old.
