Police Charge Hockey Fan In Listowel

A Durham man faces an assault charge following an incident at Listowel Memorial Arena.

Perth County OPP were called to the rink during a Bantam Rep minor hockey game between Listowel and West Grey. Police say a fan became boisterous during the game, yelling and banging on the glass.

Then after the game, as the Listowel coaching staff was walking towards the change rooms, a parent kicked one of the hallway doors, causing it to swing open and strike a coach. The coach was knocked to the ground and he suffered injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

A 46-year old Durham man was charged and is due in court April 27.
