Shelley Honoured But Cyclones Fall To Bombers

The Listowel Cyclones honoured fifth year forward Ben Shelley last night before they took on the Brampton Bombers at home.

Despite a 6-4 loss, Shelley enjoyed his special night, where he was recognized for beating Perry Ohm's games played record as a Cyclone in his 222nd game, a game Ohm attended to present a plaque to Shelley.

Ohm then dropped a ceremonial puck in which Shelley took the face-off, and Cyclones GM Wayne Long was also on the ice to present the plaque.

Despite trailing 3-0 after the 1st, the Cyclones mounted a valiant comeback, closing the score to 5-4 in the third. The Bombers put in an empty netter to seal a 6-4 road win.

After the game, Shelley stated it was "really nice" to have Ohms in attendance, and says being a Cyclone for five years has "meant everything to me. I'm so happy to have stayed here."
