Local Golfers Chip Away At National, Provincial Tournaments

Elmira's Garrett Rank finished the third round in a tie for 13th at the Canadian Men's Amateur Golf Championship.

Rank shot a 67, 73 and 74 for a three round total of 1-under, 214. The leader, from Georgia, was 10-under.

It was played out at a Toronto area course.

Golf's Senior Men's Amateur tournament is being played in Peterborough.

After two rounds, Collingwood's Michael Jackson leads at 2-over par, shooting rounds of 71 and 73. Listowel's Robert Greer is tied for 14th at 13-over par.

Ken Dunlop and Robert McWade both of Port Elgin missed the cut.

The final round is today.

At the Group Ontario Bantam Championships east of Sarnia, Clifford's Luke Cowen tied for 18th at 16-over. The winner came in at 2-under.
