Spaling Eager to Wear the Blue and White

Drayton's Nick Spaling says he's looking forward to wearing a blue and white jersey this winter.

Spaling was traded from Pittsburgh to Toronto this summer and says he's thrilled to be playing with the team he cheered for as a kid.

Spaling believes the Leaf's are going to be a much better team and is excited about being part of that as well as playing for new coach Mike Babcock.

"He's earned the respect of the players and community of hockey" Spaling says, "so I think it's exciting for me to be able to play for him and learn from him and take what I can."

Spaling played junior hockey with the Listowel Cyclones before moving up to the Kitchener Rangers and started his NHL career in Nashville.
