O'Reilly Locks In With Buffalo

The Buffalo Sabres have inked Varna's Ryan O’Reilly to a seven-year contract extension worth $52.5 million.

The 6'0'' forward was acquired in a deal with Colorado along with with Fergus native Jamie McGinn in exchange for three players and the first choice in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft.

O'Reilly spent six seasons in Colorado and had 55 points last year. And he's led the team in takeaways for the past two seasons.

O’Reilly is also a Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner, presented following the 2013-2014 season.
