Local Athletes At OFSAA Track And Field

Two athletes from Huron County earned gold medals at the OFSAA Track and Field meet in Toronto.

Lexi Aitken, who attends St. Anne's in Clinton, ran away with the gold in the senior girls' 100m hurdles with a time of 13.56 sec.

Central Huron's Mackenzie Josie took gold in senior boys' discuss with a throw of 53.45m.

Four other athletes had top 10 finishes during Friday's events and are listed below.

Men Senior Boys Discus 1st - Mackenzie Josie - (Central Huron, Clinton) - 53.45m Junior Boys Shot Put 4th- Tony Elliott (Sacred Heart, Walkerton) - 15.32m (winning distance 17.14) 100m Ambulatory 4th - Devon Newell (Central Huron, Clinton) - 16.66 sec (first place time 14.59)

Women Senior Girls Hurdles 100m 1st - Lexi Aitken (St. Anne's, Clinton) - 13.56 sec Discus 7th - Molly Boley (Owen Sound CVI) - 32.90m (winning distance 41.42) 100m Ambulatory 5th - Ella Baker-Lehnen (St. Anne's, Clinton) - 40.75 sec (first place time 14.61)
