Local Players Begin Stanley Cup Playoffs

Three local players will hope their team has what it takes as NHL playoffs kick off today.

Blyth's Justin Peters will back up Braden Holtby as the Washington Capitals begin their playoff run tonight against the New York Islanders.

Chris Neil of Flesherton and his Ottawa Senators begin an all Canadian battle with the Montreal Canadians this evening. Neil may miss the series with a thumb injury.

Tomorrow, Palmerston born and Drayton raised Nick Spaling will be on the ice for the Pittsburgh Penguins, they are up against the New York Rangers.
