Owen Sound, Guelph and Kitchener to Solidify OHL Playoff Matchups This Weekend

The Guelph Storm, Owen Sound Attack and Kitchener Rangers are taking things down to the wire.

The three OHL clubs are fourth, fifth and sixth in the Western Conference as the regular season comes to a close on Sunday.

Guelph have 78 points to their name with one game left to go (against Sarnia on Sunday). The Storm only need one point in their final game to clinch fourth and have home-ice advantage against either Owen Sound or Kitchener in the first round.

The Attack, who have 77 points, could play either Guelph, Kitchener or third-ranked London in the first round. The Bears will host Sarnia on Saturday night in their last game of the season. If they win and Guelph falls to Sarnia on Sunday, the Attack would have home-ice advantage in the first round (against either Kitchener or Guelph).

Kitchener, who sit with 74 points, have two games left to go. While it is impossible for them to finish fourth, if the Rangers win in Saginaw and Sault Ste. Marie (and Owen Sound lose to Sarnia), they could finish fifth.

More on the possible playoff scenarios can be found on the OHL's website here.
