The 66th annual Goderich Lions Young Canada Week Pee Wee hockey tournament got underway Friday morning at the Maitland Recreation Centre in Goderich.
Publicity Chair Richard Madge says they have about the same number of teams this year. There are 37 teams in the Girls C and Boys C divisions as well as boys D and Local League.
Madge adds the format for this year's tournament has changed to an all-weekend tournament. It starts with a the first game at 8:50 this morning and continues through the weekend and then picks again next Friday and wraps up that Sunday.
There are no games from Monday to Thursday. Teams play all of their games on one weekend and that frees up the rest of the March Break.
The official opening ceremonies are at seven o'clock this evening. Scores and the schedule can be found on the Young Canada Week web site.
