Exeter Takes on Dorchester in SOJHL Final

The Exeter Hawks playoff run in 2015 continues this week when the SOJHL finals begin against the Dorchester Dolphins.

Game 1 of the best of 7 series starts Friday, March 6th at 8 p.m in Exeter.

Dorchester comes in to the finals as the defending champions, the 5th ranked Dolphins downed top seed Lambeth in 5 games. The Hawks have home ice in the series after coming 3rd in the regular season. They have lost only once in 9 playoff games, eliminating Thamesford and Mt.Brydges.

Exeter will look to their stars to continue carrying the offence in the final series. Top forward Chase Thornton has 21 points in just 8 playoff games. Teammates Max Naus and Tyler Kettler are not far behind with 16 and 15 of their own. Goalie James Morreau is tops in the SOJHL post season with a record of 8-1-0 and a goals against average of 2.99.

Head to head the Hawks have the edge, winning the season series 3 games to 2. All 5 games were high scoring including a 7-5 win for Dorchester and a 7-4 win for Exeter over the course of the year.
