Exeter Hawks Take Winning Record Into New Year

The third Hawks team in Midwestern Ontario, Exeter flies into the new year hoping to climb the standings.

While not in Western Junior C, the Hawks sit middle of the pack in the SOJHL, a league stretching from Port Stanley to South Huron.

Exeter carries a winning record out of 2014. With 18 wins 10 losses and an overtime loss, good enough for 5th in the nine team division.

Carrying the offence so far is star forward Chase Thornton. He leads the league with 64 points (28 G, 36 A) in just 27 games. Thornton has a nine point lead on the next player in the league scoring race.

The Hawks ended the calendar year on Saturday, beating North Middlesex 5-3.
