Listowel's Corey Conners and partner Austin Connelly won Canada its first ever Tailhade Cup at the Los Lagartos Country Club on Sunday, beating defending champs Spain by 19 strokes.
The pair entered the final round of play with a big lead over the field. Conners would card a 3 under round of 68 on the final day. His partner Connelly - who is a dual citizen - shot a 69.
Connelly would finish the competition at 11-under par, seven strokes better than runner-up Alejandro Tosti of Argentina. Conners finished in third place overall.
