Grey Bruce OPP are searching for a witness that they believe may have information regarding a death investigation in Meaford.
According to police, on Wednesday, October 23 of 2024, Grey Bruce OPP officers began investigating after a 41-year-old male, who had been reported missing, was found dead at the Meaford harbour.
Police have now released photos of a person that investigators believe may have information relevant to this investigation. Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with the individual, who is believed to be a witness and is not considered a suspect.
The Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit is conducting the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photograph, or who has information that may assist police, is asked to contact the Grey Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
