The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is shaking up traditional fundraising with a Halloween-themed event aimed at younger generations.
On Friday, October 30, the organization will host Stratford’s inaugural Meowmosa event at the Stratford Country Club. The Halloween-themed fundraiser promises an immersive evening filled with delicious food, drinks, costume contests, and witchy vendors, all in support of local animals in need.
As charities adapt to engage younger professionals, traditional black-tie galas are giving way to more interactive, casual gatherings.
“A lot of folks value opportunities to make a meaningful impact, but want unique experiences that bring other like-minded people together in a less formal atmosphere,” shared Dani Connelly, Manager, Events and Partnerships at the HSKWSP. “This event is a chance to celebrate Halloween in a fun, memorable way and give back to the animals in our care.”
Tickets are priced at $99 per person or $750 for a table of eight, with each pass including a buffet dinner, two alcoholic drink vouchers, interactive games, and a lineup of eerie entertainment. Attendees can also enter to win a grand door prize provided by Mike Jones from Rainy Day Travel Services, along with prizes from local favorites like the Stratford Festival, Neob Lavender, Bentley’s Bar & Inn, Destination Stratford, and Betty’s on George.
Ditching rigid schedules and strict dress codes, the evening allows guests to roam and enjoy the festivities at their own pace. Costumes are highly encouraged, though completely optional.
Every ticket purchased directly supports local shelter animals. Between July and September 2026 alone, the HSKWSP successfully placed 72 dogs, 463 cats, and 47 small animals into loving homes across its Kitchener and Stratford animal centres.
By offering a Halloween bash that blends community connection with a great cause, HSKWSP aims to inspire both longtime supporters and a fresh generation of local animal lovers across Waterloo Region and Perth County.
