The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie has launched its newest tourism campaign, "Step in the Frame," inviting residents and visitors alike to explore the region’s distinct landscapes, rich history, and hidden gems.
The self-guided rural adventure features ten unique destinations scattered throughout the municipality, each marked by a custom selfie frame designed to highlight the area's scenery and story.
While the frames offer a distinct backdrop for a photo, local leaders are encouraging travelers to immerse themselves fully in the surroundings beyond the lens. From river views and historic sites to local shops, trails, and dining spots, each stop serves as a gateway to broader local experiences.
“Step in the Frame is a fun way to welcome people into our communities and encourage them to see some of the great places we have right here in Arran-Elderslie,” said Mayor Steve Hammell. “You could visit all ten locations in a day, but I’d encourage people to take a few days, slow down, shop locally and enjoy each of our towns. Whether you live here or are visiting for the first time, we hope you’ll get out, explore, take some pictures and have some fun along the way.”
Travelers attending the Bruce County International Plowing Match and Rural Expo outside Walkerton can access an exclusive bonus location starting Tuesday, September 22. Visitors to the event are invited to check out the Bruce County Showcase area to find the special frame before embarking on the rest of the tour.
“We’re excited to give IPM visitors a little preview of what they can discover in Arran-Elderslie,” said Jen Legge, Economic Development and Communications Officer. “Stop by the Bruce County Showcase, step into the frame, and then come explore the real places, stories and experiences waiting just beyond it.”
Explorers can participate by simply locating a frame and taking a photo. Participants can also explore the surrounding community, and post their photos online using the hashtag #StepInTheFrameTour. Those who share their photos will be entered to win a $250 Arran-Elderslie prize package.
Maps, contest details, and frame locations are available on the municipality's official website, and updates are featured across the municipality's social media channels.
