The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health recently held a Caregiver Recognition Event to celebrate the dedication of local caregivers.
Held on September 17 at the Libro Community Hall in Clinton, the event brought together 70 community members to recognize the important work done by caregivers in the area.
Twenty-two caregivers were nominated to receive a recognition award and a small gift of appreciation in honour of the time, compassion, and care they provide to others.
A few of the caregivers who were recognized shared their own stories that reflected on the challenges and impacts that caring for a loved one can bring.
This event is part of Gateway’s Skilled Healthcare Attraction and Retention Program, or SHARP, which works to recognize and support the people who contribute to the health and well-being of rural communities.
