Lambton OPP has charged a man from Grand Bend after he allegedly almost hit several pedestrians and officers while running traffic stops.
At around 5 p.m. on Friday, police were conducting a seatbelt check near Main Street and Kitchener Avenue in Grand Bend.
Investigators report that someone ran through the stop, coming close to hitting several pedestrians.
Police say the driver then went to Oak Street, where a RIDE program was taking place. The person allegedly drove through that stop as well, almost hitting three OPP officers.
No injuries have been reported.
Police have since charged a 36-year-old Grand Bend man with several charges, including three counts of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to wear a seatbelt, unnecessary noise, driving a motor vehicle without a license, stunt driving, and failing to stop for police.
OPP is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact them.
