Road reopens following sinkhole repair in Owen Sound

A road that was recently damaged and closed due to a sinkhole near in Owen Sound has been repaired and reopened.

On Monday, April 6 at 10:22 p.m., the Township of Georgian Bluffs Operations staff shared that West Street was closed from Grey Road 17B to Vault Works Road due to a washout/sink hole. The street was closed to all traffic and pedestrians and was barricaded.

On Wednesday, staff shared that the roadway had been patched and repaired, allowing for traffic and pedestrians to utilize that stretch of West Street again.

Staff with the township did point out that the area will remain in gravel until asphalt can be installed.
