Big Door in Walkerton offers meals and supports for students

A community organization in Walkerton is offering meals and supports for local residents and students out of a local church.

The Big Door is located at 2 Durham Street East in Walkerton, and is run by a local church group that was established in Brockton three years ago.

Despite being run by a church group, The Big Door offers meal services without the presence of any religious elements.

On Tuesdays at noon, Comfort Meals are offered to anyone who needs a warm meal. From 3-6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the 326café is open for local students as a drop-in centre after school.

A statement on The Big Door's website shares that the organization hopes the building can "be a source of care, hope, support and community for anyone who enters."
