Midwestern Ontario may see heavy rain to start Easter weekend

A system of rain moving into midwestern Ontario Thursday evening may result in a wet start to the long weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow rainfall warning for the Bruce Peninsula area through Friday morning. Forecasters are predicting 30 to 50 millimetres of rain Thursday night and Friday morning.

A special weather statement is also in effect for most of the region on Saturday, with total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 millimetres.

Rainfall warnings may be issued as needed for areas covered by the special weather statement.

The weather agency is tracking a pair of Colorado low systems, which may result in significant rainfall through Saturday night across midwestern Ontario.

Updates will be provided by Environment Canada as necessary.
