Belmore Maple Syrup Festival returns soon

The 56th annual Belmore Maple Syrup Festival is set to return this April with a full lineup of community events and sweet treats.

The festival runs Thursday, April 9 and Saturday, April 11 at the Belmore Community Centre, with pancakes served both days starting at 8 a.m.

Spokesperson Kyle Wright said it is an event the entire family will enjoy.

"There are pancakes and sausage being served," he added. "There's live music, craft shows, and a syrup demonstration showing how they boil the sap, out back."

The popular event is now supported by hundreds of volunteers, while drawing visitors from across Ontario each year.

Wright explained that April 9 is Seniors Day, but it is open to everyone.

"Everybody is invited both days, but Thursday is Seniors Day, which runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.," he added. "There's also a euchre tournament going on that day. Saturday's more general public, and it runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m."

Admission to the building is free, with meal tickets available on-site.
