Missing Georgian Bluffs man found dead

A Georgian Bluffs man who had been missing for two months has been found dead.

Grey Bruce OPP announced on Friday that search teams located the body of James Van Veen at the Inglis Falls Conservation Area shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The discovery came not long after the search for the missing 64-year-old man resumed. Van Veen had been reported missing on January 26 after he did not show up for his scheduled shift at work. His truck was later found in the parking lot of Inglis Falls. That led to an extensive search of the conservation area, which had to be called off days later due to hazardous winter conditions.

"At this time, foul play is not suspected," police said. "No further information will be provided regarding this matter."

Police are thanking the public, partner agencies, and volunteers who assisted with the search effort.
