Two months after the disappearance of a Georgian Bluffs man, the search for the missing 64-year-old is ramping back up.
Grey Bruce OPP, along with officers from the canine, aviation, and underwater search and recovery units, resumed the search for James Van-Veen at the Inglis Falls Conservation Area on Wednesday morning. He was reported missing on January 26 after he didn't show up to work. His vehicle was later found in the parking lot at Inglis Falls.
The discovery prompted an extensive search, which was called off at the start of February due to hazardous winter conditions.
Police have closed the conservation area's parking lot to accommodate a command post. The public is asked to avoid the area to ensure search teams can work safely and without interruption.
"Specialized resources will be deployed throughout the trail systems, escarpment terrain, and surrounding areas," police said.
Anyone who was at Inglis Falls the evening of January 25 to early January 26 is asked to review dash-camera and trail-camera footage for any potential sightings of Van-Veen.
Van-Veen is described as 5'10", approximately 175 lbs, with shoulder-length grey/white hair, a full grey beard, brown eyes, and prescription glasses. It is believed he may have been wearing dark overalls and high-cut work boots at the time of his disappearance.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
