Lucknow Kinsmen donates $50,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Canada

The Lucknow and District Kinsmen Club has donated another $50,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

The service organization has been giving annually to Kin Canada's charitable partner, donating nearly $360,000 since 2012.

Paul Zinn, Lucknow Kinsmen Life Time Member, said their contributions have increased greatly in recent years.

"Starting in 2023, that was our 50th anniversary and we gave $50,000," said Zinn. "Just to give you an idea, I think the total district probably gives a couple hundred thousand dollars to CF and we're giving around a quarter of that amount."

The local Kin Club has been able to give more thanks to the success of events like Music in the Fields and the Dungannon Super Pull.

That includes an annual "Guitar Raffle for CF," where an acoustic guitar donated by TNR Productions is signed by all of that year's artists. The raffle raises $10,000 each year.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada is just one of many organizations that benefits from the Lucknow Kin Club's work. The total donations made by the club to local schools, hospitals, organizations, and charities since 2012 is said to be over $2.3 million.

The Dungannon Super Pull takes place June 19 and 20, while Music in the Fields runs August 27 to 29.
