Exeter woman accused of defrauding business out of over $100K

Fraud charges have been laid against an Exeter woman after a business was bilked out of more than $100,000.

Middlesex OPP were called to the unnamed business on Parkhill King Street in Parkhill regarding suspected fraud on January 23. Investigators found an employee had allegedly cashed fraudulent cheques, stealing just over $107,000.

On Friday, police announced that a 39-year-old woman from Exeter is charged with fraud over $5,000, criminal breach of trust, and falsification of books and documents.

The woman has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on May 26.
