Head-on crash claims life of Georgian Bluffs resident

A 28-year-old from Georgian Bluffs was one of two people killed in a head-on crash southeast of Lucan.

Emergency crews were called to Highbury Avenue North between Thirteen and Fourteen Mile roads in Middlesex County after the two vehicles collided around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Both drivers, a 28-year-old Georgian Bluffs resident and a 75-year-old from St. Thomas, were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. Their names have not been released.

No other people were in the vehicles at the time of the crash, Middlesex OPP said.

The stretch of road was closed until about 4 a.m. on Friday as investigators were on scene probing the cause of the crash.
