Mitchell remembers Cody Feltz

Mitchell is mourning the loss of a well-known community member after the sudden passing of 35-year-old Cody Feltz on December 12, 2025.

Feltz worked for the Municipality of West Perth and served as a Captain with the West Perth Fire Department. He was also deeply involved in local sports, contributing to several hockey organizations, including the Mitchell Hawks, Huron Perth Lakers, and Monkton Wildcats, and was coaching with Mitchell Minor Hockey. Feltz was also a longtime member and mentor with the Black Swans Rugby Club.

Known for his humour and unmistakable laugh, he leaves behind his wife Kelsey, their children Levi and Leila, and a large extended family.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the West Perth Community Centre, where attendees are encouraged to wear their favourite team jersey. Donations in support of his children can be made by e-transfer to LeviandLeila@gmail.com or by cheque to the family through Lockhart Funeral Home.
