Charges laid following break-in and vehicle theft in Bluewater

Huron County OPP have laid numerous charges after a break-in and vehicle theft in Bluewater.

Police say on November 4 around 3:30 p.m., a person was seen in a home who wasn't supposed to be there by the homeowners on London Road in the Municipality of Bluewater.

Officers arrived quickly and saw the suspect running away. The suspect managed to steal an unlocked pick-up truck from a nearby home.

Police followed the stolen vehicle and later found it abandoned in Clinton. The suspect was later found hiding in a home by police and was arrested.

The 37-year-old of no fixed address is now facing two counts of break-and-enter, theft of a motor vehicle, assault, possession of methamphetamine and fail to comply with probation.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing, where they were remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
