Charges laid after Listowel business damaged, person assaulted

Provincial police in Perth County believe more properties may have been damaged in an incident that saw a person assaulted and a Listowel business targeted.

OPP were called to the business on Mitchell Road South around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, where a person was reportedly causing damage to the property and had threatened and assaulted one person.

Officers arrived and arrested a 30-year-old man. He is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation. The accused is scheduled to appear in Stratford court in relation to the charges on Wednesday.

Additional information provided to investigators suggests other properties in the area may have been damaged in relation to this incident. Police are asking anyone who believes they are the victim of such damage to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
