Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board to host two pay-what-you-can meal events

The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) is set to host two "Open Table" pay-what-you-can meal events.

These two events are set for November 26, 2025, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Walkerton, and February 11, 2026, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary's and The Mission Parish in Owen Sound.

Anyone is free to attend the pay-what-you-can event, and anyone who wishes to "take what you need, give if you wish," according to the school board.

The Open Table is made possible by support from the BGCDSB Trust Fund’s Igniting the Sole Fund.

"The Open Table is about breaking down barriers and seeing the dignity in every person who walks through the door," said Lori DiCastri, Chair of the Board of Trustees. "We believe community is built one conversation at a time, and we look forward to sharing an evening of nourishment and fellowship."
